To Factory Reset a refurbished iPad Version 4 tablet
Plug the device in and go to Settings > select General > at the very bottom select Reset > select Erase All Content and Settings.
After Factory Resetting iPad
Set up
- Once iPad has restarted, “Hello” screen will appear.
- Slide to set up and Select a Language > select English.
- Select Your Country or Region > select United States.
- Choose a Wi-Fi Network and log into the Wi-Fi.
- On Location Services screen > select Disable Location Services > select OK.
- For Create a Passcode > select Passcode Options > then select Don’t Add Passcode > then select Continue.
- On the next screen, Apps & Data > select Set Up as New iPad.
- Enter Apple ID & Password: If you do not have one you’ll need to create on in order to operate the tablet and download Kiosk Pro Lite
- On Terms and Conditions > select Agree.
- On SIRI screen > select Don't Use Siri
- On Diagnostics screen > select Don’t Send.
- “Welcome to iPad” message will display > select Get Started.
Settings
- Click into the Settings App and on the General tab click:
- On the Spotlight Search tab > Turn Off all apps (individually).
- Go back to the General tab and on the Background App Refresh > select Background App Refresh to turn it off.
- Once that is done, go into the Bluetooth tab > turn Bluetooth off.
- Bluetooth > Bluetooth Off
- Next, go into the Notifications tab and go in one by one into the App Store, Calendar, FaceTime, Game Center, Mail, Maps, Messages, Photos, Reminders and Tips > in each one, select Allow Notifications and turn it OFF.
- Notifications > App Store > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Calendar > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > FaceTime > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Game Center > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Mail > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Messages > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Photos > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Reminders > Allow Notifications OFF
- Notifications > Tips > Allow Notifications OFF
- After Notifications are all off, go into the Do Not Disturb tab > select Repeated Calls to turn it off.
- Once that is off, go into the iCloud tab > turn off every option in the tab except Find My iPad.
- iCloud > Photos> iCloud Photo Library OFF
- iCloud > Photos > iCloud Photo Sharing OFF > OK
- ICloud > Mail OFF
- iCloud > Contacts OFF > Delete from My iPad
- iCloud > Calendars OFF
- iCloud > Reminders OFF
- iCloud > Notes OFF> Delete
- iCloud > Safari OFF> Delete from My iPad
- iCloud > News OFF
- iCloud > Home OFF
- iCloud > Game Center > OFF
- iCloud > Find My iPad > OFF > Enter iCloud Password & Turn off
- iCloud > Backup > iCloud Backup OFF > OK
- After, go into the Mail, Contacts, Calendars tabs and turn off every option.
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Load Remote Images OFF
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Organize By Thread OFF
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Contacts Found in Apps OFF
- Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Show Invitee Declines OFF
- Go into the Messages and the FaceTime tab and turn the options off.
- Messages > iSend & Receive > Apple ID: yourAppleID@icloud.com > Sign Out
- FaceTime > yourAppleID@icloud.com > Sign Out
- Next, go into the Safari tab and turn off every option. (You will still be able to use Safari to get on the internet)
- Safari > Search Engine Suggestions OFF
- Safari > Safari Suggestions OFF
- Safari > Preload Top Hit OFF
- Safari > Frequently Visited Sites OFF
- Safari > Open News Tabs in Background OFF
- Safari > Show Tab Bar OFF
- After, go into the News, Music, and Videos tab and turn all options off.
- News > Show Story Previews OFF
- Music > Show Apple Music OFF
- Music > Apple ID: yourAppleID@icloud.com > Sign Out
- Then, go into Photos & Cameras, iBooks, Podcasts, Game Center and turn off every feature.
- Photos & Cameras > Summarize Photos OFF
- iBooks > Full Justification OFF
- iBooks > Auto-hyphenation OFF
- iBooks > Sync Bookmarks and Notes OFF
- iBooks > Sync Collections OFF
- iBooks > Online Content OFF
- Podcasts > Sync Podcasts OFF
- Podcasts > Only Download on Wi-Fi OFF
- Podcasts > Deleted Played Episodes OFF
- Podcasts > Custom Colors OFF
App Store Icon
- Search > type “Kiosk Pro Lite” and click Search.
- Download “Kiosk Pro Lite” and Click Open once completed.
After Kiosk Pro Lite Download
Once Kiosk Pro Lite has been downloaded onto the device, return to the iPad Settings.
- Go into the iCloud tab.
- Just to be on the safe side, verify all the iCloud settings are off (except for Find My iPad)
- Scroll to the bottom of the iCloud section, there should be a “Sign Out” button.
- Click “Sign Out”
- A confirmation window will appear, confirm you want to sign out or delete click “Sign Out” or “Delete.”
- Then, go into the iTunes & App Store tab.
- If still signed in, Click “Apple ID: yourAppleID@icloud.com”
- A pop up will appear, click “Sign Out.”
Organize Home Screen icons
- Click and hold an app until they all begin to shake.
- Drag them one by one into a group except Kiosk Pro Lite and Settings
- Drag Kiosk Pro Lite and Settings onto the dock bar at the bottom of the screen
- Press the Home Button to secure the new app placements.
